Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is born June 15 in 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora or sometimes stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 with great praise from bloggers as well as the press. The artist has released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the hit song Runaway through her music, also gave it some more recognition. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical experiences include discovering the piano within her attic, then being captivated by the sounds that it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music. It was not for a job or as just a pastime, but to develop. To achieve this she wrote her first original compositions. Like Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music publicly, not to become famous but rather make others aware of how significant the music they compose and what they could do to improve the world. When she began playing the piano, she was only six and began to write music before she reached nine. Family members didn't even know that she had begun until 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She says she just likes creating songs. For her, music is the ideal way to be able to feel anything.
